February 22, 2007 Our girls season is over! The top 12 all-time list has been updated! Our banquet is coming soon. We finished in seventh place at conference with many swims getting into the finals. It was a fun weekend, even if the bus did break down! Molly finished her season at the state meet with an 11th place finish in the 50 freestyle, and 5th in the 100 backstroke. She is an all-state selection for the second year in a row! Our dual meet record finished at 7-3. Congrats on a great season girls!! January 23rd, 2007 Webb City picked up wins against Springfield Central, Hillcrest and Nixa. We lost our first dual of the year to Joplin. Molly Brown improved upon her team record in the 200 freestyle (2:02.47). Tori Reeder moved into the second place position on our top 12 all-time list in 1-meter diving! Kassandra Carr also moved into the 12th place all-time position in the 100 backstroke. Our record is now 5-1. January 20th, 2007 The first annual Red Bird Swimming Invitational was a success! Thank you to all of our volunteers-- we can't run a meet without you! Webb City finished fourth out of 7 teams. Our 200 free relay (Molly Brown, Autumn Tournear, Lauren Sanford and Rachel Sidenstricker) took the first place medal! Molly Brown also broke the WCHS team record in the 500 freestyle by 35 seconds! Great job girls! January 8th, 2007 Webb City finished a spectacular 6th place at the Ozarks Invitational! The 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays turned in times that rank well on Webb City's top 12 all-time list to go along with Libbey McCloud's #6 ranked 100 breaststroke, and Molly Brown improved upon 3 of her existing team records. We were almost 100% best times! What a great way to start the new year! ------------------------------------------------------- November 4th The boys conference meet this year was as exciting and dramatic as ever! Webb City placed fourth over all, 5.5 points behind Central. Our 200 Free Relay quaified for state and set a Team Record after a DQ in the prelims! Nathan Roy qualified in diving! We had way too many personal best swims to list! October 24th Congratulations to Nathan Janssen, Jason Boatwright, Brent Johnson and Matt Roughton for qualifying the 400 Freestyle Relay to compete at the MSHSAA State Championships!! October 17th Our dual record is now 7-2. We suffered a loss to Kickapoo, but picked up wins against Parkview and Ozark. October 14th We won our dual against Sedalia on Friday, which puts our dual meet record at 5-1. We also won the Smith Cotton Invitational on Saturday against six teams! We turned in a lot of best times and had a lot of fun!! September 23rd We lost a heartbreaker on Saturday… Central stole it away 359-356! No one likes to lose their first home invitational by three points… but if it means the guys are racing like a street fight and squeezing out huge personal bests in their effort to win I’ll take it! The guys swam their hearts out and I am very proud. September 19th Congrats to our boys for winning 1st place at the Carthage Invitational! This weekend we hope to do it again at the 1st annual Red Bird Invitational at our home pool! Parents, please plan on helping to time! August 16th Boys season has begun! The swim team parent meeting is set for 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 22nd. Webb City swam extremely well in our meet against Central and Hillcrest. Our dual meet record is now 2- 0! Our next meets are Saturday Sept. 9 at the Ozarks Invitational, and Tuesday, Sept 12 at Springfield vs. Glendale and Marshfield. This year Webb City is hosting the first annual Cardinal Invitational on September 23rd! Please plan on helping out at this event. Coach will need all the help he can get to make sure the meet runs smoothly. Wish our boys luck-- the hard work has started and there is no turning back! |
